FOUNDER’S VISION

Chitrakala Handloom was founded by Nishtha Vishwakarma, with a vision to preserve the soul of Banarasi handloom while presenting it to the world with authenticity and grace. Deeply inspired by the cultural richness of Banaras and the dedication of its artisans, she believes that handloom is not merely a textile, but a living art form.

Working closely with weavers and artisan families, Nishtha ensures that every creation upholds ethical practices, uncompromised quality, and respect for traditional craftsmanship. Behind The Name, Logo and Color

1. The Name – Chitrakala

  • “Chitra” means art, image, or intricate expression.

  • “Kala” means craft or skill.
    Together, Chitrakala represents artistic craftsmanship, celebrating weaving as a visual and cultural art form rather than just a textile process.

2. The Logo – “CH” Monogram

  • The intertwined C & H symbolize Chitrakala Handloom, designed in a regal form to reflect heritage, refinement, and permanence.

  • The monogram style represents exclusivity and timeless luxury—much like classical Banarasi weaves.
